Kafue’s Beautiful Lodges

Once again I was lucky enough to called to photograph some Lodges in the Kafue! Three Lodges from South to North, with one Lodge the sole purpose being creating a promo video.

Kaingu Lodge – well covered in the past, this certainly is one of my absolute favourite places in Africa! The location on the river is just incredible. Arrival is through the reserve and then a short boat ride to the Lodge through the most incredible riverine area. This year’s task was to create a promo video for the Lodge and their surrounds …

Nanzhila Lodge – located in the deep south on the Nanzhila Plains, I had not been to this area before so was certainly excited to venture to this part of the Park. The Lodge is small and personal, located on a very unique dambo which has year round water which is great for viewing in Winter. Elelphants are common visitors, bathing in the dambo and then browsing through the Lodge as they move off (great experience). Birdlife is amazing, with even the Pel’s Fishing Owl being spotted while I was there.

Mukambi Lodge – A follow-up visit to Mukambi Camps. Mukambi has one main Lodge on the Kafue River near the Hook Bridge. This main Lodge operates as a feeder Lodge to it’s two incredible Bush Camps, Busanga Plains Camp and Figtree Camp. Notwithstanding that, the game viewing around Mukambi Lodge is insane. Big five viewing along the Kafue River and other smaller tributaries was incredible, some of the best leopard viewing I have ever experienced.
