An
adventurer, traveler, photographer and conservationist, trying
to develop a niche in an environment where there is so much talent.
Taking on the photographic world is a challenge of the highest
degree, but one that has taken me to all corners of the world,
both above and below the waterline, overland and underwater.
I
was first inspired to accept the challenge of taking photographs
while I was studying. Conservation has always been in my blood
and while studying birds down in the southern part of South Africa,
I was lucky enough to be able to borrow a camera from the University
and this was the start I needed. From there I went to work in
the Lowveld near the Kruger national Park and, with my two first
salaries, I bought myself a camera system. I was set! Until
.one
of the guests showed me his underwater images of his trip to the
Red Sea. I knew from that day that I was to tackle the underwater
realm, a medium far more challenging and exciting than terrestrial
photography. The adventure began
..
After
7 years of working in the big 5 areas of South Africa, my wife
and I decided that we needed to satisfy our travel bug and our
passions, which included travel, photography and the ocean (in
my case). We headed to the Caribbean where we unfortunately did
not find what we were looking for, resulting in us heading back
home, only to be offered an opportunity in the Cayman Islands.
So off we headed back to the Caribbean, and 2 years later we returned
to South Africa to take on the challenges, which the terrestrial
and underwater worlds offer, and to hopefully share these through
our photographs.
Enjoy
the world through our eyes!
